📝 Description: The growth and development of our communities has a large impact on our natural environment. The manufacturing, design, construction and operation of the buildings in which we live and work are responsible for the consumption of many of our natural resources.
Green building design is the practice of increasing the efficiency with which buildings and their sites use energy, water, and materials, and of reducing impacts on human health and the environment for the entire lifecycle of a building. Green-building concepts extend beyond the walls of buildings and include site planning, community and land-use planning issues as well.
The programme shall cover basic concepts of green building design and rating systems with emphasis on design retrofit of existing buildings to make them more energy efficient. Additionally, the same shall also cover certain aspects of structural retrofitting of buildings which shall be required in making existing buildings energy efficient.
The programme will also focus on improving energy efficiency through reduction of electrical energy consumption and the adoption of energy-efficient electrical equipment. It will further elaborate on the application of renewable energy sources and their integration with the utility power supply.
Participants would get acquainted with Green Building design requirements and Green rating for existing buildings.
